The Skagen estate lies on Straumøya which is located near Saltstraumen, the largest maelstrom in the world. The history of this venerable estate dates back to 1624, when it was established by Klaus Brokkenhuus. Later, the mansion was expanded. The estate was actively farmed until 1907. Skagen Estate invites groups to enjoy very special surroundings, characterised by agrarian romanticism - it's like stepping back into an age long since past. Guests almost invariably experience a refreshing tranquillity in this relaxed, seaside atmosphere. The old school building is now used for small conferences and meetings of up to 14 persons. Skagen Estate offers 8 double rooms, all charmingly furbished - and pleasantly devoid of telephones and TV. In addition they can offer an exclusive meal for up to 40 persons. Sea rafting can be combined with a trip to Saltstaumen. |
